In 2022, Ana was on a pitch call where the client pulled up a live site and asked, in passing, “by the way, is that Söhne licensed?” Nobody on the call knew. Nobody on the client's team knew. The file had been there for nine months. The back-license cost more than the redesign.
We built a crawler over that weekend and used it internally for two years before packaging it up. Font Checker Pro v1 shipped in early 2025 to 400 studios on a waitlist. We're now at 12,400 paying accounts and still self-funded.
