Terms of Service
Plain English: Use Font Checker Pro to audit your own sites, or sites you have permission to audit. Don't use it to abuse foundries or strip DRM. We'll tell you before we change anything material.
1. Who we are
Font Checker Pro, S.A., registered in Lisbon, Portugal, operating the service at fontcheckerpro.com. "We", "our", "FCP" refer to the same company.
2. The service
FCP scans publicly accessible URLs, uploaded files, and images; identifies typefaces contained therein; and produces audit reports. The service relies on a nightly-refreshed index of thousands of type families, licensed from foundries and public sources.
3. Account & access
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. You may not share API keys across organizations. Free accounts are rate-limited to 5 scans per calendar month per organization.
4. Acceptable use
You will only scan URLs you own, operate, or have written permission to analyze. You will not use FCP to circumvent foundry anti-piracy systems or to decompile font files. You will not use scan outputs to impersonate a foundry’s licensing desk or to issue fraudulent notices to third parties.
5. Fees & billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via the payment processor listed at checkout. Yearly plans receive a 20% discount and are prorated on cancellation.
6. Foundry licensing
FCP does not license typefaces to you. Identification of a face in your report does not grant or imply any right to use that face. Contact the relevant foundry for licensing.
7. Termination
Either party may terminate at any time. Data export is available for 30 days after termination. After 30 days, reports are permanently deleted.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FCP’s aggregate liability is capped at the fees paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We do not warrant that identification is error-free.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes go to the courts of Lisbon.
10. Changes
We will email account admins at least 30 days before material changes take effect.
